Bio: Lorraine Boehm, 84, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, at Sanford off Sunset, Mandan. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Perry Schnabel officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.Lorraine was born October 25, 1931, at Medina, North Dakota, to Reinhold and Eva (Gunsch) Kanewischer. She was raised and educated in Medina where she graduated from high school. On May 8, 1955, she married Michael J. Boehm in Medina. Lorraine worked at the Mandan Hospital as a bookkeeper for 27 years. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals-on-Wheels, and as a lunchtime assistant at various public schools in Mandan. Her hobbies included quilting?she made quilts for each of her grandchildren, baking?she specialized in caramel rolls and kuchen, canning?she would can enough for everyone, camping and gardening. Lorraine and Mike enjoyed retirement in Arizona until his passing in 1999, and attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren.Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sisters, Helen (Albert) Schmallinger, and Violet (Phillip) Guthmiller; one brother, Lawrence Kanewischer; and grandson, Michael K. Boehm.
