Bio: Meredith-Clark Funeral HomeDonald J. KempfDonald J. Kempf, 72, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at his residence in Morgantown. He was a former resident of Southport. He was born June 27, 1933, in Chicago. His parents were Otto A. and Frances Rose (Theising) Kempf. He married Brenda K. (Reynolds) Kempf on June 12, 1993, in Greenwood. She survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Selena A. (Gary) Bryant and Lillian F. Brown, both of Morgantown, Lynette M. Hall of Indianapolis, Denise M. (David) Kohlmeier of Chicago and Jo Ann E. (John) Himebaugh of Brown County; four sons, David J. Kempf of Indianapolis, John E. Mulery of Kentucky, Robert E. (Beth) Mulery of Brown County and Schuyler Z. Brown of Morgantown; and 16 grandchildren. He retired in 2005 as the owner and operator of Industrial Feeding Systems in Beech Grove after 31 years. He also owned and operated Bushy Beaver Log Homes from 1995 to 2003.He attended St. Jude and St. Rose of Lima Catholic churches. He was a member of the Southside Knights of Columbus for more than 30 years, a member of the National Rifle Association and contributed to the Jim's Kids organization, which helps handicapped children. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, whitewater rafting, reading mysteries and bird watching. He also enjoyed raising pygmy goats and working outdoors. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954 in the supply company. The Rev. John Hall will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Martinsville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars honor guards at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 2201 W. Sudbury Drive, Suite C, Bloomington, IN 47403. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.meredith-clark.com.
