She was born in Dale, Indiana to Simon Joseph and Elanora Katheryn (Koenis) Wahl, one of fourteen children. She loved to work in her yard, play bingo at the Elks Club, where she and deceased husband were members for many years. She spent a lot of time volunteering at St. Joseph School in Upland. She loved to be around young people. She is survided by a daughter of Louisville, KY, e grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one foster daughter, four foster grandchildren, all of California. Two sisters, two brothers, many nephews and nieces. She is also survided by a multitude of young people who called her Grandma. She was devoted to helping young people through the good and bad times. She wanted all of them to have a chance to become better people. She was preceded in death by her husband William Walters, her parents and many brothers and sisters. Visitation at Stone Funeral Home, Monday 9/9/13 4:30 - 7pm. Mass a St.Joseph Catholic Church 9/10/13 at 11am. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Evansville, Indiana next to her husband. In lieu of flowers donations in her name to Heartland Hospice or a charity of your choice.
