Bio: Ohio- Robert E. Minnick, 88, a resident of Ohio, Ill. died on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Heritage Health in Walnut.He was born on March 10, 1931 in Ohio, Ill. to John and Ruth (Scallon) Minnick. He was united in marriage to Lois Plasschaert on October 1, 1955 in Sheffield. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2018.Robert farmed for many years in the area and was a truck driver for several local trucking companies until his retirement. He was a retired Teamster and drove a school bus. He was a member of the Walnut-Ohio Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. Robert was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.Those left to honor his memory include his children, Linda Minnick, Charles (Tracey) Minnick, Deb (Kevin) Guinn and Kevin (Christine) Minnick; 8 grandchildren, Drew Minnick, Tyler Minnick, Beau Minnick, Kalin Westerman, Jordan Minnick, Jarod Guinn, Grace Minnick and Lila Minnick and a step-grandchild, Tanner Guinn.He is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a granddaughter, Lillian Minnick, 2 sisters and 6 brothers.A prayer services will be conducted on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, followed by the Celebration of the Mass of Christion Burial will be at 10:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio with Reverend Thomas Shaw, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Ohio.A memorial has been established in his memory to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.Garland Funeral Home
