Bio: -- Published in The Medford Mail Tribune, Medford Oregon, 01/11/2017:Richard Weber, 76, passed away January 4, 2017, in Medford, Oregon. He died at home under Hospice Care after battling cancer for six years. He was born in Hyde County, South Dakota to Fayette and Una Weber. He had three siblings, Joan (Robert) Doxtator, with four sons; John (Lynn) Weber; and is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Dale) Kutz, with three sons and two daughters.Richard has four children from his first marriage to Marsha Weber, David (Stacey) Weber and their son, Zack, of Vancouver, Washington and their daughter, Jennifer of Carrington, North Dakota; Garrett (Sara) Weber, of Florence, Ore.; Melissa (Mark) Della Paolera, of Sherwood, Ore.; and Dan Weber, of Seattle, Wash.Richard also has two sons with his second wife, Debra Weber, Steven, who served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp. and is now working and going to school; and his youngest son, Justin who enjoys playing hockey, reading, and is taking online classes.After graduating from Highmore High School in S.D. he went into the United States Marine Corp. On returning home from the service, he attended the University of South Dakota, earning his bachelor degree with a major in government and minors in history, sociology, and Spanish. Upon graduation from college he started working in the automotive industry. This created many, many moves for him. This is also when he met and became friends with Dick Heiman. They have been friends now for almost 50 years and worked together again when he moved to Medford. Richard retired from Lithia Motors about four years ago.Richard had many hobbies; a favorite was football which he played in the Marine Corp., as well as in college, and played for a short time with the Denver Broncos. He loved to fly and got his pilot?s license; another favorite was tennis, and he was an avid reader.Richard loved his family and especially loved being a father. He loved to attend and coach their sporting events from football, basketball, baseball, and hockey.A small family service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Bricktowne Brewery at 1:00 p.m. following the service. The family invites anyone who would like to attend and celebrate Richard and have a pint of his favorite beer to join us.Richard will never be forgotten for his love of life and outrageous personality!
