He grew up in Montgomery, AL. Jerry graduated from the University of Notre Dame (B.S. Civil Engineering) and earned his masters and doctorate degrees at the University of Texas at Austin.Jerry was employed by Zahl Ford Inc. in Oklahoma City for over 30 years. Jerry?s expertise was well respected. He married Eileen Kanaly Forgey in 1982, and their daughter Mary was born in 1988. Jerry was a beloved husband and devoted father.Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and served in the Church in a variety of capacities.His hobbies included woodworking, model ship building, reading science fiction, computer games, and visiting Civil War battlefield sites.Jerry passed away on June 27 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Eileen; his daughter Mary Lambson of Roanoke, Texas; his mother Mary Hasselwander of Dadeville AL, and his younger brother John of Troy, AL. Jerry?s stepsons are Dan Forgey of Chicago, George Forgey of Andover, KS, and Tim Forgey of Minneapolis.A viewing for Jerry will be Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6-8 PM at John Ireland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 12915 S. Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, OK.
