Jacob F. Denk, Jr.
AGE: 89 ?
Jacob F. Denk, Jr., of Whiting died Friday, February 20th at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was 89.
Born and raised in Union, he lived in Colonia for 58 years before moving to Whiting 2 years ago.
He worked as a Lab Technician for PSE&G in Maplewood for 32 years before retiring in 1980.
Jacob served in the US Navy during World War II, aboard the USS Boyd in the Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Seaman First Class.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Traditional Roman Catholic Church in North Caldwell, New Jersey.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathleen T. Denk (nee: Gilleece) ; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul & Denise of Colts Neck, New Jersey; William & Debra of Brick, New Jersey and John & Denise of Sunnyvale, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen & William Ludeking of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kathleen & John Postiglione of Lakeland, Florida; sister, Charlotte Beegle of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Family and friends can meet for the Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 26th at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 103 Gould Avenue, North Caldwell. Burial to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
