William John Dauenhauer, 84, of Salem, Utah passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was born November 10, 1934, in Los Angeles, California to Marcus and Florentine Miller Dauenhauer, the youngest of nine children. His father passed away when he was just ten years old; his sisters took on the responsibility to make sure he was raised as a gentleman.
He married the love of his life, Sallie Irene Collins, in 1979 in Thousand Oaks, California. Following their marriage, they moved to Utah to work for The Talley Corp, later known as Teleflex. He was employed with them until his retirement.
Bill always loved animals but especially his dogs, most recently Max and Remus. Bill enjoyed good food, cooking, gatherings, having a good time and people in general. Over the years he had a love for the outdoors and especially hunting with friends and family.
He is survived by his sister, Eleanor (Ellie) Stoltze, beloved nieces and nephews, and many adopted family members, including special friends and neighbors, Louise Fausett and Greg Reece. He will be greatly missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sallie; sisters, Margaret, Rocine, Mary, Alice, and brothers, Joseph, Marcus, and George.
Special thanks to all who cared for Bill throughout his illness; there has been much kindness and compassion shown to him.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by a short service, at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery, 130 East 965 South, Salem, Utah.
