Aberdeen, SD-Funeral service for Marcella M. Hoffman, 89, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Pastor Vern Dalstein will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Marcella died January 5, 2019 at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Marcella Mabel Hoff, daughter of John A. and Esther (Haas) Hoff was born May 15, 1929 at Venturia, ND. This is where she attended school through the eighth grade. She helped on the family farm until her marriage to Henry W. Hoffman on September 23, 1951 at Ashley, ND. They lived on the family farm seven miles west of Venturia where they farmed.
In 1978, Marcella moved to Aberdeen where she worked at Aberdeen Living Center until 1997. She then moved to Ashley, ND. She worked at Ashley Medical Center for four years, before moving back to Aberdeen in 2001. Marcella then worked at McDonald?s until the Fall of 2006. She also worked for Foster Grandparents. She gave 100% of herself at whatever she did and considered work a privilege.
Marcella?s faith in the Lord was foremost in her life and then her family and friends. She was a Gift from God to all of us. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Ashley Baptist Church and Venturia Baptist Church.
Grateful for having shared Marcella?s life are her daughters, Sandra (Kevin) Jensen of Langford, SD and Marie (Kent) Voegele of Springboro, OH; sister, Millie Baumgartner of Dufur, OR; brother, LaVern Hoff of Golden Valley, MN; and three grandchildren, Nicole Meidinger, Alicia Meidinger and Shane Voegele.
Preceding her in death were her parents, grandson, Don Voegele, brother, Harvey Hoff and two sisters, Joyan Carlson and Arlene Hoff.
Honorary Casketbearers will be the staff of Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Casketbearers will be Nicole Meidinger, Alicia Meidinger, Shane Voegele, Kevin Jensen, Kent Voegele and Don Hoff.
The family prefers memorials to Alzheimer?s Association.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
