ohn G. Kerner Jr. Mass is Saturday for 'A big man with an even bigger heart' John G. Kerner Jr., 55, of Branchburg, N.J., passed away on Jan. 10, 2017. John was born June 28, 1961, in Queens, N.Y., to the late John Kerner and Margaret Kerner. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J., from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 12 noon at St. James Church, Basking Ridge. Interment will be private for the family. John was raised in River Vale, N.J., and was a member of the Pascack Valley High School Class of 1979. John had lived in Basking Ridge, Flanders, N.J., Bernardsville, N.J., and Branchburg. He was employed by Jaeger Lumber as a delivery driver for over 30 years. He loved camping, the NY Jets and Mets and the Adirondack Mountains. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and will mostly be remembered for being "Too Tall." He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kerner of Manchester, N.J., and his two sisters, Kathy Kerner DiMaggio (Wayne) of Branchburg, N.J., and Mary Leonard (Steve) of Dublin, Ohio. He was uncle to Jonathan DiMaggio, Melissa DiMaggio, Andrew Leonard and Elizabeth Leonard. He also leaves behind many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
