MR. Haney was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, and was the son of the late Samuel William Haney and Dorothy McGregor Haney. He retired as a welder and machinist at Auto Body Repair and a painter and was a Navy and Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of T. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Disabled American Veteran and Spruce Mountain Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, Rose Ann "Dee" Buchan Haney; two sons, William Norman Haney, II of Philadelphia, PA, and Thomas Francis Haney of Prescott, WI; two sisters, Mary L. Bauer and Carol Ann Sand ridge, both of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Sean, Mark, Erick and Rachel and one great-granddaughter, Madalyn Rose. Father Mario Claro conducted the Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Franklin. Burial was at North Fork Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Basagic Funeral home in Franklin was in charge of funeral arrangements.
