Obituary of Hilary Naeger
Hilary T. "Dutch" Naeger, 83, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born April 21, 1930 in Beatty (Unity Township), a son of the late Hilary and Eleanor (Thomas) Naeger.
Dutch was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the U.S. Army, and prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Latrobe Municipal Authority for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, the Thomas B. Anderson American Legion Post 515, the Cooperstown Veteran's and Sportsmen's Club, the Kingston Veteran's and Sportsmen's Clubs, and the Frontier Club. He also enjoyed woodworking,
He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Eleanor (Shabella) Naeger, his son, Richard M. Naeger of Derry, his grandson, Stephen M. Naeger of Derry, his sister Rose Flodin of Latrobe, two brothers, Jerry Naeger and his wife Marian of Florida, and Bill Naeger of Latrobe, his former daughter-in-law, Karen Naeger of Latrobe, four sisters-in-law: Frances Unferdorfer, Barbara Ballash, Mildred Shabella, and Loretta Shabella, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. 1500 Ligonier Street in Latrobe. A blessing service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William P. Donahue officiating. Military services accorded by the combined funeral detail of American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414 will be held immediately following the funeral service in the funeral home.
