I recently learned that my ancestor KNAPPS first settled in America at Portage County, Ohio in the vicinity of Randolph Township. PETER1 KNAPP was born 1791 in Germany. He married BARBARA. She was born 1796 in Germany. Children of PETER KNAPP and BARBARA are: i. PETER2 KNAPP, b. 1821, Germany. ii. BETSY KNAPP, b. 1832, Germany. 2. iii. MICHAEL KNAPP, b. 1832, Germany; d. 1900, Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. iv. JOHN KNAPP, b. 1835, Germany. v. FREDERICK KNAPP, b. 1839, Germany. vi. NICHOLAS KNAPP, b. 1843, Germany. Generation No. 2 2. MICHAEL2 KNAPP (PETER1) was born 1832 in Germany, and died 1900 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. He married MAGDALENA MILHEIM February 21, 1852 in Ashland County, Ohio. She was born 1832 in Strasbourg, France, and died April 01, 1921 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. Both buried at Ashland Cemetery. Children of MICHAEL KNAPP and MAGDALENA MILHEIM are: 3. i. KATE3 KNAPP. 4. ii. CHARLES KNAPP. 5. iii. LEWIS "LOU" KNAPP. 6. iv. EMMA KNAPP. 7. v.
