Vern was born in Belfield, North Dakota to Gabriel and Magdalena Boespflug. He moved to Portland, Oregon at the age of 18 and started his apprenticeship in Painting. He successfully ran Vern Boespflug Painting Corp. for many decades in Clark County, WA.

Vern married Catherine (Fredrickson) in 1987 and acquired two additional daughters: Victoria A. Fredrickson and Jennifer R. Santella (Scott).
Vern was a very active civil servant in his community. He joined in, volunteered and was involved with innumerous social entities. Additionally, he was a Chartered member with the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Elks Club for 54 years, being in the honored role as an Exulted Ruler, among many other volunteer junctures he had participated in.
Vern was a glass half - full kind of guy, that was the kindest-most generous person that could never say no when asked of something. He accepted all people and met them where they were in life. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend!
"Our loss cannot be measured but we will
forever have his loving legacy with us."
Golfing and gardening were his first loves but he also enjoyed his bowling team of 30 plus years, playing on his family Boespflug Painting softball team, skiing, and many traveling adventures.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Deirdre; grandson, Jason Scott; and brother, Donald Boespflug.
