Julia B. Fyock (Bennington), age 94, died peacefully on July 7, 2018, with her sons at her side. Julia and Delmar were born and raised in Center, Colorado, in the San Luis Valley. Julia graduated from Colorado State University, where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. She and Delmar met at her third birthday party, and married in 1945. She was a teacher for many years in Casper, WY and Denver. Member of the Lakewood United Church of Christ and of PEO, and loving mother and grandmother as well as friend and mentor to many, including former students. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Delmar D. Fyock; sons, William Fyock (Carol) and Frank Fyock (Alyce); granddaughters, Amy Fyock (Mitchell) and Danae Fyock; grandsons, Matthew Fyock (Lauren), Andrew Fyock, and Alexander Fyock; great-grandsons Logan and Theodore Nagle; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jessie Bennington; sister, Margaret Hazaleus; and brother, Everett Bennington. A memorial service for Julia will be held at 1:00 P.M., on August 18, 2018, at the Lakewood, CO United Church of Christ, 100 Carr St., Lakewood, CO 80226, phone (303) 233-4401. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to "Great Minds in STEM" (greatmindsinstem.org - promotes education in underserved communities) or the Lakewood United Church of Christ.
