Victor Kenneth Moench, 75, of Seymour, IL, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Meadowbrook Health Center, Urbana, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy, IL, with Reverend Dalene Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana with military rites accorded by the VFW Post #5520. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Moench was born on December 2, 1934, in Wishek, ND. He was the son of Philip John and Hulda Ketterling Moench. Mr. Moench graduated from Wishek High School. He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1967. He was a service representative for General Electric Medical System for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion #1256 in Seymour. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports. He was an avid Cardinal fan. He married Joan Arie on January 15, 1970, in Champaign, IL. She survives. Also surviving are step-son, Gordon (Carolyn) Ficklin of Urbana, IL; step-daughter, Julie (George ?Butch?) Stombaugh of Seymour; grandchildren, Christina (Mel) McGregor of Kansas, IL, Deborah Stombaugh of Bondville, IL, Raymond Stombaugh of Tolono, IL and Gordon R. Ficklin of Champaign; great-grandchildren, Jordan Ficklin of Champaign and Josie McGregor of Kansas; brother, Dale (JoAnn) Moench of Devils Lake, ND; niece, Lisa Klopstein of Houston, TX; and nephew, Darren Moench of Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials can be made to the organization of the donor?s choice. Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
