Funeral services for ALVAH M. SHOWALTER, 85, who died Tuesday evening in the Mennonite Old Peoples Home, Maugansville, Md., will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Mt. Olive Mennonite Church, with Bishop Glenn E. Martin and ministers Ira M. Martin, Norman H. Martin, Abram M. Baer and John F. Grove officiating.
Burial will be in the Reiff Mennonite Church Cemetery, near Cearfoss, Md.
Friends may call at the Minnich-Miller Funeral Home, Greencastle, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Mr. Showalter, formerly of Maugansville, Md., was born Dec. 24, 1881, in Broadway, Va., a son of the late Moab and Annie (Shank) Showalter. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Mennonite Church, Maugansville, Md.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Adam R. Martin, Mrs. Esther A. Keener and Mrs. Edgar M. Keener, all of Maugansville, Md., and Mrs. Clifford C. Oberholzer, Greencastle R.D. 4, a son, Roy M. Showalter, Maugansville, Md., 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Bowders, Hagerstown R.D. 9.
