JANUARY 10, 2018 Obituary of Patricia Burke Oriol Patricia Burke Oriol, known to many as "Honey", was born into eternal life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Covington, LA at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Oriol, parents, Louis Burke and May Fabacher Burke and great granddaughter, Bryleigh Duffy. She is survived by her three daughters, Amelie Oriol, Eileen McKeown and Cheryl Gaudet, grandchildren, Lauren Crosby, Timothy Duffy, and Mimi and Claire Gaudet, and great grandchildren Hunter and Caroline Crosby. She adored her sons-in-law, Bill Gaudet and James McKeown, and grandson-in-law, Mike Crosby. She cherished her extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife and mother, who always put others before herself, and a lifelong, devout Catholic who volunteered her time in the service of caring for others. She grew up in New Orleans, attending St. Mary's Dominican High School, and raised her family in Lakeview, where for many years she and her husband were actively involved in St. Dominic's Parish. They spent many weekends and summers at their home in Pass Christian where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends. They eventually retired to the Gulf Coast, where they were involved in volunteering their time and talents with Our Lady of the Gulf Church and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. For the last three years, she was a resident of Forest Manor Nursing Home, where she was lovingly cared for by their exceptional staff. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation and a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with Mass following in the chapel at 1:00 pm. A private interment will be held at a later date.
