On July 14, 1980, Vern married Virginia Bitz in Coeur d?Alene, Idaho. Some years later they divorced. Vern started as a mechanic at a service station. As a mechanic he was top-notch. It seemed he was always building something out of metal. Later he took to driving semi-truck, working for Highball Trucking, Getter Trucking and Consolidated Freightways. When he was not working, Vern loved to fish, hunt and work with iron. Vernon is survived by brothers Arthur Wanner of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Allen Wanner of Mandan, N.D.; and a sister Frieda Rath of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a dear friend Ann Bauer of Billings. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Barbara and Christian Wanner; his brothers: Chris, Albert, Edward, August, Harold, and Ervin; and two sisters Lillian Olsen and Tillina Job. Vern passed away on July 13, 2014, of natural causes; cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
