He was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Kahrig Paulus; a brother, Edwin and a sister, Pauline Kahrig Christman. Surviving are his wife, Laura Christman Kahrig; three sons, Wayne, of Wooster, Ohio, Meredith of Woodsfield, and Wilfred of Creston, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Letha) Shipe of Senecaville, Ohio, Mrs. Otto (Lillian) Kaiser of Strasburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred (Edilene) Coblentz of Medina, Ohio; four brothers, Ben of Byesville, Ohio, Homer of Salesville, Ohio, Alfred and Lawrence both of Lewisville; three sisters, Marie Kahrig Brooks of Mantua, Ohio, Mrs. Clem (Sophia) Kahrig Reischman of Barnesville, Ohio, and Minnie Kahrig Walters of Marietta, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
