She was born in Tripp, South Dakota, July 25, 1930 to Calvin and Meta Weisser. She was later joined by a brother, Robert Weisser (currently retired officer, U.S. Navy). The family migrated west during the Great Depression, eventually settling in Camas, Washington, where Ruby attended local schools. In 1952, Ruby married Richard Ernest Webberley of Camas, Washington, and the couple raised four children. Ruby worked as a bookkeeper for several local medical offices while raising her busy family. She was a very active and contributing member of the Camas Community of Christ for all of her adult life. Ruby was a very avid recreational league softball player as well, she was selected twice as pitcher for her local all-star team and continued playing with the league through age 69! Tragically, the love of her life, Richard Webberley, died in 1996 in a fateful wind storm, but Ruby found happiness with second husband, Wallace Witt, during her retirement years. Ruby is survived by her four children, Larry (Tina) Webberley, Mike (Vivian) Webberley, Pam Webberley, Brett (Dianne) Webberley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service and pot luck was held Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Community of Christ, 4805 NE 15th Ave., Vancouver, Washington.
