Theresa MichelsDied March 12, 1999HANNAH - Theresa Michels, 73, of Hannah, died Friday at Munson Medical Center.Born Sept. 16, 1925, in Blair Township, she was the daughter of Peter and Emma (Biermacker) Schaffer. She married Earl F. Michels on Jan. 18, 1950, in Traverse City. A lifelong resident of Hannah, she was employed by Essex Wire for 24 years.She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Edward Schaffer; and two sisters, Fern Straub and Lucy Schaffer.She is survived by nine children, Linda Michels of Traverse City; Ruth Saxton, Roger (Nancy) Michels, Gordy Michels, Bob (Charmaine) Michels, Bev (Carl) Maddox, and Marlene Michels, all of Kingsley; Nancy Novak of Canton, Mich.; and Elaine Cizek of Interlochen; one sister, Irene Stiets; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 15. Burial will be in St. Mary's of Hannah Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to the Kingsley Fire Department. Arrangements were handled by Covell-Smith Funeral Home.
