Martha Steigner September 18, 1919 - May 31, 2001 STEIGNER, Martha Mary Ann Habig, 81, of Wheeling Island, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was a retired employee of the former L.S. Goods of Wheeling; a member of the former Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Steigner; her parents, Charles E. and Rose Becker Habig; a sister, Clara Taylor. Surviving are two son, James J. of Battle Creek, Mich., and Charles F. of Moundsville; three granddaughters, Robin Suzette Smith of Battle Creek, Mich., Kathleen Steigner of Manhattan, N.Y., and Teresa Lynn Steigner of Bryan, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; two cousins, Pat McGonigal and Jean Murphy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday from noon-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling.
