Bio: William E. "Bud" Fauke , a former St. Louis County recorder of deeds, died Sunday (Jan. 21, 1996) of cancer in Naples, Fla., where he had lived since his retirement in 1984. He was 71. Mr. Fauke was appointed recorder in 1971 after serving four years as assistant recorder. He was recorder for 13 years. He was born in New Baden. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He moved to St. Louis after the war. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church, 796 Buckley Road in South County. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. Among the survivors are his wife of 49 years, Audrey Moellmann Fauke of Naples; two daughters, Kris T. Fauke of Naples and Susan Redman of House Springs; two sons, Bruce A. Fauke of Arnold and Mark E. Fauke of South County; a sister, Bernice Fauke of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Friday, January 26, 1996.
