Virginia W. “Wave” Boyd, age 75, of Mount Vernon got her wings on Friday morning, March 20, 2015 at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on September 5, 1939 in Miltonsburg, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Howiler) Keylor.
Wave was a 1956 graduate of Woodsfield High School and moved to Mount Vernon in 1961 to work for “Clippies” until their closure in 1970. Then she drove school bus for the Mount Vernon City Schools for 20 years. After driving bus, Wave went to work for Wenco and retired in 2004. Wave was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555 and former president of the Fraternal Order Eagles #760 in Mount Vernon.
Wave is survived by her brothers, Paul (Pat) Keylor of Woodsfield, Marlin (Mary) Keylor of Jupiter, TN and Bruce (Linda) Keylor of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many many friends.
In addition to her parents, Wave was preceded in death by her husband, John Boyd; and brother, Richard Keylor Sr.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon with Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta.
