Vernon C. Brindle, 92, formerly of Hazelton, ND, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday December 30, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Hazelton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, and continue from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Vernon Brindle, the son of Clark and Etta (Brown) Brindle, was born July 3, 1925 in Emmons County, ND. Vernon married Dorothy Kertzman on November 28, 1953 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Hazelton, where they began their life together. In 1961 they purchased property from John and Ottilie Kertzman and moved to a farm northeast of Hazelton. They farmed and raised cattle until 1989 when they retired and bought a home in Hazelton.
Vernon was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army. His favorite hobbies were reading and fishing. Vernon entered the Wishek Living Center in 2015.
Vernon is survived by one sister, Gloria Soule, Moffit, ND and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Fern Buck and Evelyn Bender; and brothers, William Brindle and Charles Brindle.
