HASSELWANDER, CARL ALOIS
Beloved husband of Laurian "Lauri"; dear father of Carol Ann Robinson, Waterford and Thomas J. Hasselwander, New York City; dear grandfather of William (Lindsay), Carla and Lisa Robinson; dear great grandfather of Vanessa, Olivia and Carter; also survived by Herman Steudle (Georgianna); and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews; as well as many dear, lifelong friends.
Employed in various counsel positions by Burton Abstract and Title Company and successor St. Paul Insurance Company. Served as CEO of First American Title Insurance Company of Mid-America and regional Vice-president and member of the Board of Directors of First American Title insurance Company. He was a member of the American Bar, State Bar Association, member of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan, served as Chairman of the Real Property Section and Chairman of the Title Standards Section. He was a member of the Society for the Preservation for and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. Sang bass with the heart of the Hills Chorus in Rochester MI, Sang bass and is President of the Sandblasters Chorus in Palm Desert CA. sang bass in "Four Sates Four" quartet and also "Aftershock" quartet. He was an active member of his church in Rochester Hills, Grand Rapids and Palm Desert, CA. His hobbies included barbershopping, golf, gardening (especially roses) and traveling.
