James F. Singer, Jr.

With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of James F. Singer, Jr. AKA Jackhammer of Piscataway. Jim passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at home. Born in Newark, NJ; Mr. Singer was raised in Avenel and resided in Highland Park before moving to Piscataway since 1999. Mr. Singer was employed as Transportation Supervisor for Bill Westervelt Asphalt Paving Inc. in Edison for the past 39 years. He owned and operated Another Tattoo Shop in Bound Brook for many years and Another TAT 2 Shop in South Amboy. Additionally he owned and operated JJ Welding, Power Wash & Equipment Repair for many years. He was a member of The Thunder Motorcycle Club, Alliance of Professional Tattooists and Equipment Managers Council of America, FTW/NFG. He was an expert Harley Motorcycles enthusiast. Jim's impressive knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery far exceeded anyone else in the field.
He was predeceased by a grandson William Jamey Singer who passed in 2011; His father James F. Singer, Sr. who passed in 1989; his mother-in-law Marion Nettles-Falk who passed in 2007; his father-in-law Samuel Nettles, Sr. who passed 2003; a brother-in-law Samuel Nettles who passed in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 39 years JoAnn Singer; a son James F. Singer, III and his wife Amy of Middlesex; his grandson James F. Singer, IV of Middlesex; his mother Doris Singer of Avenel; 3 sisters Susan Fritz and her husband Roland of South Brunswick, Bernadette Forte of Sherman Oaks, California, and Barbara Kitchen and her husband Steven of Woodbridge; 2 brothers Kevin Singer and his wife Lisa of Avenel, and Keith Singer and his wife Michele of Avenel; 2 brother-in-laws Robert Nettles and his wife Sandy of Benwood, West Virginia, and Sonny Nettles and his wife Sandy of Ocala, Florida.He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His entire family and vast amount of friends truly loved him dearly and will sorely miss his loyalty and character. He touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Funeral will take place Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at COSTELLLO-KOYEN FUNERAL HOME (www.costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude's Place Memphis, TN 38105.
