Born May 15, 1930 in Farmerville, LA, he graduated from Louisiana State University where he was active with the Delta Chi Fraternity. He married Maria E. Lorber in Germany in 1954. She died in 2013. He served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1972. He worked for the Food and Drug Administration for 20 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Oak Haven United Methodist Church, and the Mercedes Benz Club. Survivors include his daughter, Petra Ahrens and grandsons, Blake and Trevor Ahrens, all of Flower Mound. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
