Obituary for Eugene Flockerzi
Eugene E. Flockerzi, 78, of Chamor Lane, Seneca, died at 5:40 am Sunday, July 15, 2007 at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh.Born May 5, 1929 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Homer L. and Cleo L. Bowersock Flockerzi.He was a lifetime resident of Cranberry and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.Mr. Flockerzi served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.He retired from the Education and Community Services Comptroller's Office headquartered in Harrisburg in May 1991 after 25 years of service.Mr. Flockerzi enjoyed his garden, working outdoors and The Statler Brothers. He especially enjoyed and appreciated his kitty friends, Hayden, Reba and Shay-Boy.Surviving are his wife the former Sally Ann Yost and five children, Jean Ann Moffett of Oil City, Nancy Lee Carner of Seneca, Dennis Eugene Flockerzi of Elkton MD, Christine Marie Frawley of Oil City and Abby Renee Flockerzi of Seneca.Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Moffett of Cranberry Twp., Steven E. Moffett of Erie, Brayton J. Carner of Cranberry Twp., Bryan L. Carner of Rockland, Erin R. and Darren J. Frawley of Oil City and Alex S. and Olivia M. Flockerzi of Elkton MC; two great grandsons, one great granddaughter; an aunt, Mildred Flockerzi of Coal Hill and several cousins.In addition to his parents, Mr. Flockerzi was preceded in death by a brother, H. Daryl Flockerzi, a nephew, Dean R. Flockerzi and a niece Sue Ann Flockerzi.Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.Entombment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry.In lieu of flowers, Eugene requested that memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City PA 16301.
