Obituary for Leroy E. Blauser
Leroy E. Blauser, 79 of 366 Blauser Lane, Oil City died at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
He was born at Coal Hill the son of Arthur J. and Hazel M. Flockerzi Blauser on September 30, 1934.
Leroy grew up on a farm and loved to till the land and watch his crops grow. He also was an avid hunter.
Leroy graduated from Cranberry Area High School in 1953.
On July 1, 1955 he married his High School sweet heart Elizabeth M Perry at the Heckathorn United Methodist Church by Rev. Nelson Stants where they are still members. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this July.
He is a 49 year member of the Coudersport Consistory, a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge Chapter #225- Brookville, the Clarion and Venango County Shriners Club and Zem Zem Shriners of Erie and Olive Temple Lodge No. 557 Tionesta.
Leroy retired from National Fuel Gas serving 37 years and was Distribution Supervisor at time of retirement. In 1964 he was transferred to Marienville as Sub Foremen and was very active in the Rotary Club, the Firemen's Club, and Manger of the Little League and helped with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; son Donald Blauser and wife Kathleen of Brookville; grandchildren James and wife Catherine Blauser of Blauser Lane, Amanda Blauser and fiancé Bryan Culp of Crown, Lisa and Jess McCullough of Ohio, and Melanie Blauser of Pittsburgh; and 3 great grandchildren (The Love of his life) Andrew James Blauser, Haylee Catherine Blauser, and Mercedes Nicole McCullough.
Also surviving is a sister Elizabeth (Melvin) Confer, Brother Clayton (Connie) Blauser all of Oil City.
In addition to his family, he is survived by his best friend and hunting buddy of 50 years Tom and wife Dianne Sayers of Connecticut, a close cousin Fred and wife Lois Marsh of California, and a Brother In-law Wayne and wife Sandy Perry of Seneca and Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a great grandson Travis James Blauser (Oct. 1999), a brother Harold A. Blauser, and sisters Catherine Conner, Betty Blauser, Barbara Snyder and his in-laws Everett and Phyllis Perry.
Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Heckathorn united Methodist Church at 2 pm Thursday with the Rev. Rob Kifer, officiating.
Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that Contributions be made to the Heckathorn United Methodist
Church.
