Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Monday at the church with a 7:00 PM prayer service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.Robert Lloyd Bender was born June 20, 1960 in Mitchell, SD to Lloyd and Jane (Rehorst) Bender. He graduated from Hanson High School in 1978. After he graduated from South Dakota State University he farmed with his father and also worked as a seed dealer for Wensman Seed Company for a number of years. He married Susan Schieffer on February 14, 1991 in Mitchell.He loved spending Friday nights with his family-especially his two granddaughters.
