Louis J. Simons
RAPID CITY - Louis J. Simons, 35, of Rapid City, passed away Friday, June 9, 2006 at his home.
Lou was born in Denver, Colorado on November 13, 1970. He graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1989, and attended SDSMT for two years.
Computers were his main interest. In recent years he had worked for Web Mind, Inc., a software development company in New York City, after which he was very happy to move back to the Black Hills, the place he called home. He continued to do computer consulting and at the present was employed as Network Engineer for Clinical Lab. of the Black Hills.
On July 14, 2006, Lou was to be married to Jody McClendon and become a father to two wonderful boys, Sagan and Eli McClendon, and a new baby. Lou will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.
Survivors include his mother Bonnie, one sister Jackie Reed, a niece Sara Reed, his future wife Jody McClendon and boys Sagan and Eli McClendon, all of Rapid City. His grandparents Louis C. and Hilda Simons, Rapid City, and grandmother Wilma Michel of Martin, S.D.
Also survive him are Uncle Dick and Aunt Darlene Michel, Rapid City, cousins Brenda Harrison, Plano, Texas, Brian Michel, Pine Haven, Wyo. and Richard Michel, Rock Springs, Wyo.
Lou was preceded in death by his father, Louis M. Simons, on May 17, 2006 and his grandfather John Michel on July 15, 1978.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, followed by a prayer service at 7pm. An open AA meeting will follow the prayer service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with Fr. Marcin Garbacz as celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.
