Louis M. Simons
RAPID CITY - Louis M. Simons, 63, of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at his home.
Louis was born in Snoqualmie Falls, WA on December 7, 1942 to Louis C. and Hilda Simons. He graduated from McIntosh High School in 1960, and graduated from Black Hills State University in 1965.
On May 30, 1964, he was married to Bonnie K. Michel. After college they moved to Denver, CO, where Louis worked for Texaco Oil Company. After returning to South Dakota, he taught at Central, near Martin, SD, and then for the BIA, at Eagle Butte, SD for seven years.
Louis and his wife, Bonnie, moved to Rapid City, SD in 1974 where they owned and operated A-1 Auto Parts Stores for two years. Following this, Louis taught at Rapid City Central High School until he retired in 2000. During the summer vacations he looked forward to working as a doorman at Reptile Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Jackie Reed; one son, Louis J. and his future wife Jody McClendon; two step-grandsons, Sagan and Eli McClendon all of Rapid City; and one granddaughter, Sara Catherine Reed of Carlsbad, NM. His parents, Louis C. and Hilda Simons of Rapid City, also survive him.
Louis will be greatly missed by all.
