Arthur W. Hoff, 80, of Aberdeen, died Dec. 11, 2004.
He was born March 5, 1924, in Dickinson, N.D., to Vincent and Marianne (Sherger) Hoff. He graduated from Dickinson High school in 1942 and attended Dickinson State College.
Mr. Hoff served in the Army during World War II in Europe. He moved to Longview in 1954 and worked for Weyerhaeuser. He was transferred to the shipping department of the Cosmopolis plant in 1957. He retired in 1984. He later worked for liquor stores in Hoquiam and Aberdeen for 13 years.
He married Barbara Comer on May 28, 1951, in Miles City, Mont. She survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Hoff and Thomas Hoff; two daughters, Darcy Marcou and Trish Malizia; a brother, Walter Hoff; a sister, Hildegard Rohrmann; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cosmopolis Lion's Club. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Private inurnment will take place at Fern Hill Mausoleum. A card of condolence may be sent to the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com.
