Feist, 81, was found dead in his bed Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 23. He apparently ad died in his sleep sometime very early in the morning of that day.Mr. Feist was living alone, his wife being hospitalized at Bismarck. Monday evening, his 4-year-old granddaughter came to stay overnight with him, but left early Tuesday morning. She said that she had awakened several times during the night, but that her grandfather was asleep and that he was still sleeping when she left the house. When he was not see around by 6 p.m., and investigation was made and he was found dead.Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock from SS. Peter and Paul’s Church at Strasburg. The Rev. Michael Messer will be in charge. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Kraft Funeral Home, Linton, and burial will be in the church cemetery.Born in South Russia on May 15, 1877, Mr. Feist was a son of Benedict and Sophia Feist. When he was 15, he came to the United States with his parents. They came to Emmons County and settled on a farm three miles northwest of Strasburg. He married Eva Lauinger at Strasburg on Nov. 20, 1899.For the past 30 years, the family home has been in Strasburg.Survivors include his widow and the following two sons and four daughters: Mrs. John (Magdalena) Fischer, Aberdeen, S.D.; Mrs. Anton (Theresa) Feist and Mrs. Val (Stephina) Feist, both of Bismarck; Kasper J., Ben K. and Mrs. Mattie (Mary) Lipp, all of Strasburg.
