Mary Ann "Marianne" Zoeller, 91, a life long resident of New Riegel, passed away at on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
Mary Ann was born October 17, 1925 in Big Springs Township, Seneca County, to the late Robert E. and Cecelia M. (Kroeckel) LaFountaine. She was the second youngest of fourteen children. She married the love of her life, Robert P. Zoeller on October 19, 1946, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin, by Msgr. Kinnane. Robert preceded her in death on May 23, 2006. In March of 2006 Mary Ann had a stroke and Robert had hoped to bring her home. When he became ill, their only child David and daughter-in-law of Mary, promised Dad to bring her home. Dave and Mary left their home in Tiffin to care for her in her home in New Riegel. She was able to spend precious time with her great-granddaughters every week, when Dave and Mary watched them while their moms were at work.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, David (Mary) Zoeller of New Riegel, three grandchildren, Jesse M. (Michelle) Zoeller and their children, Devon, Ryan, Riley and Raygan Parm of Fairfield, Lisa A. Zoeller and daughter, Adaline "Addi" Krzeminski of Tiffin and Sarah L. Gomez and daughters, Alicia, Juliana and Sierra Gomez of Tiffin. Mary Ann is also survived by a very special niece Sharon Straub of Tiffin and nephew, Carl Zoeller of Tiffin. They would bring their mom, Georgetta Hursey, Mary Ann's youngest sister out to visit, which meant the world to her.
Also surviving are in-laws, Helen Weott and Eugene Zoeller of Tiffin and Pauline (Edward) Wangler of Fostoria.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clarence (Eileen), John (Evelyn), Charles (Kathryn), Peter (Mary Ann), two infant brothers, Joseph and Ferdinand Franklin, and a 7 year old brother, Paul. Six sisters, Agnes E. (Lawrence) Shetterly, Isabella (Harry) Cook, Lucinda (Perry) Coffman, Rosa (Albrice) Cool, Gertrude (Cornelius) Nedolast and Georgetta (Joseph Zoeller) (Loren) Hursey. Georgetta died recently on February 4, 2017.
Mary Ann was a member of All Saints Parish Catholic Church in New Riegel and its Rosary Alter Society. She retired from AutoLite in Fostoria in 1986 after 25 years of employment.
Mary Ann and Bob loved going on bus trips, especially to casinos with good friends, Gerald and Rose Mary Runion. They regularly would visit Mary Ann after her stroke in the nursing home and later at her home in New Riegel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at the All Saints Parish in New Riegel with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, from 3-7 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will be follow the services on Friday, at the Parish cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Parish or to the New Riegel Rite to Life Fund.
