Herman and Caroline "Carrie" Seibel Zaeh marriage produced four children, Edwin Zaeh, Caroline Zaeh Kiefer and Herbert Zaeh. Unfortunately, their first pregnancy resulted in a still birth.
ZAEH--Edwin H. 97, of Spring Lake Heights, died Thursday, March 24, at the Monmouth County Care Center, Allenwood. Ed was born in Jersey City on May 5, 1907 and lived there throughout his working career. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jersey City. Ed subsequently moved to Spring Lake Heights in 1969 to enjoy his retirement years with his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret. He attended New York University, and was a practicing Certified Pulbic Accountant in both New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Zaeh was employed by the Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company of New York and progressed to the position of senior officer of the company with the title of director of internal auditing. His success in that field was only surpassed by his love and loyalty to his family and friends. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan, South Monmouth County Senior Citizens and the Institute of Internal Auditors. Througout his life, he assisted others through his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts, Little and Babe Ruth Leagues and numerous church activities.
He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Kiefer Zaeh and brother, Herbert Zaeh. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Reymann; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Donald and Jani from Granite Springs, NY and Robert and Suzi from Williamsburg, VA; and four granchildren, Janelle Shipley, Andrew Zaeh, Stacy Zaeh and Meredith Fuller.
Relatives and friends will be received ath the O'Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon with a service to begin at noon, followed by commital at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of lowers, donations may be made to the Monmouth County Care Center, Geraldine L. thopson Div. 2350 Hospital Road, Allenwood or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Main Street at Osborne Avenue, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
