Lester J. Wise Lester J. Wise, 75, of Desert Aire, Wash., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at a Seattle, Wash., hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish, Wash. Burial will be in Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Wash. Mr. Wise was born June 23, 1927, in Duncan Falls, Ohio, to Clement and Audra Wise. He was a longtime resident of Sioux City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in many campaigns in Europe. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City and a Third Degree Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vikki Wise of Desert Aire; his children, Rebecca (Doug) Starcher of Cinebar, Wash., Beverly Hudson of Guam, Lesley (Tom) Monsen of Everett, Wash., Jeffery Wise of Paulsbo, Wash., Scott Wise of North Sioux City, and James (Heather) Braun of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; his brothers, Linus (Dora) Wise of Reno, Nev., Paul Wise of Zanesville, Ohio, Tom (Betty) Wise of Zanesville, and George (Ann) Wise of Mesa, Ariz.; his sisters, Beatrice (Hobart) Dempsey of Victoria, Texas, Kay Lavala of Anderson, Calif., and Shirley (Dave) Joseph of Zanesville; a sister-in-law. Peg Wise of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Wise; two brothers, Al and Charlie Wise; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. A memorial has been established in his name to the Swedish Hospital's Cancer Center in Seattle.
