- OBITUARY: Paul E. 'Butch-Red' Wise, 85
ZANESVILLE -- Paul E. "Butch-Red" Wise, 85, of Zanesville, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. Born Jan. 22, 1920, in Akron, a son of the late Clement D. and Audrey Mae Wise, he retired as a welder for Rockwell International in 1982. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a World War II Army veteran and a life member of VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Surviving are his caring companion, Pauline "Polly" Welsh of Zanesville; two daughters, Sue Lasure and Charlotte Blair, both of Zanesville; two sons, Paul E. Wise of Reynoldsburg and Joseph L. Wise of Zanesville; two stepdaughters, Ruth Ann Grimm and Kathy Davis, both of Zanesville; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley (Dave) Joseph of Zanesville, Beatrice Dempsey of Texas and Kay Latvala of San Jose, Calif; and a brother, George (Ann) Wise of Mesa, Ariz. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Father Robert Kitsmiller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, where VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold military services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice, Morrison House.
