Doris was born in Canton, Ohio on November 9, 1937 to the late Raymond and Ruth Nist. She retired from the Timken Co. in 1990 after 30 years of service and was a member of The Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Doris enjoyed all sports and was a fantastic volleyball player. Preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Ann Mearkle. She is survived by her daughter Rhonda (Michael) Ross of Circleville, OH; son in law Roger Mearkle of Canton; brother Raymond (Marti) Nist of North Canton; 2 nephews; 1 niece and many other loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday September 1, 2016 at The Basilica of St. John the Baptist 627 McKinley Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44703 with the Very Rev. Ronald M. Klingler officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at West Lawn Cemetery.
