Obituary for Adam E. Reich
Funeral services for Adam E. Reich, 95, of Aberdeen, SD, will be at 11:00am, Friday, September 29, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Marcia Sylvester officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery. Adam died Thursday, September 21, 2017, at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.
Adam E. Reich was born on March 31, 1922, to Adam and Katherine (Weber) Reich on a farm near Wishek, ND. On November 25, 1943, Adam married Erna Aipperspach. They farmed near Wishek until 1955 when they moved to Aberdeen. At that time, he started Reich Construction. He enjoyed working with his hands and was known for the quality of his work. Adam enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved to dance.
After retirement, Adam worked maintenance for Aberdeen Parks & Rec. He was dedicated to his job and remained there until his health failed. He lived at ManorCare for six years.
Grateful for having shared Adam’s life are his children: Mavis Jundt, Diane Reich, Sharen (Don) Palmer, Roger (Lisa) Reich, Ronda (Doug) Smith, Adam (Brenda) Reich, Michelle (Scott) Malsom, Tracy (Raquel) Reich and Brian Reich; grandchildren: Deborah (Paris) Miller, Troy Jundt, Kristi Regina, Keli Christenson, Kory (Sarah) Christenson, Michelle (Myles) Hamilton, Kimberly (Jeff) Severson, Eric Palmer, Jenny Reich, Alex (Chelsea) Reich, Rachael (Robert) Stimis, Austin (Amber) Smith, Amber Reich, April Reich, Dalton Reich, Devin Reich, Gracey Reich, Brooke Malsom, Tony Reich-Mower, Makayla Rathert, Morgan Reich and Dylan Reich; great-grandchildren: Jazmin, Jada, Joshua, Jonah, Luca, Arianna, Cooper, Hazel, Jude, Jasmine, Breanna, Mya, Wyatt and Zack; step-great-granddaughter, Jessica O’Brien; step-great-great-grandchildren: Cameron and Memphis; siblings: Bertha Schwind, Erna Schwind, Alvina Brandner and Edward Reich; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Adam in death are his parents, Adam and Katherine, children, Cynthia and Jody; siblings: Katherine Martell, Lydia Werre, Marie Martell, Edwin Reich and Pauline Alexander; son-in-law, George Jundt; and special friend, Verna Liedle.
Adam’s family would like to give a special “Thank-You” to ManorCare for the good care that was given to him throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Zion Lutheran Church.
