Obituary
Dorothy M. Harmon Laux, 86, of Freeport, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday (April 24, 2004) at Highland Center, Genesis HealthCare, Brackenridge.
She was born March 16, 1918, in Natrona, Harrison. Mrs. Laux was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Eagles drill team, all in Freeport. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Survivors include two sons, F. Robert Laux and Jack (Mary Ann) Laux, both of Freeport; a daughter, Mrs. Carol (Samuel) McWherter of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Laux, in 1986; and her mother, Lillian Feller Harmon. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport, where a prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, by the Rev. Thomas Federline. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Academy Angel Fund, 610 High Street, Freeport, PA 16229. Parish wake service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
