Birth: Feb. 14, 1909 Death: Jun. 27, 2003 Anne Laux Tarentum Formerly of Harrison Anne Nichy Laux, 94, of Tarentum, formerly of Natrona, Harrison, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday (June 27, 2003) at Highland Center Genesis ElderCare Network, Brackenridge. She had been a patient there two weeks. Born Feb. 14, 1909, in Monessen, she moved to Natrona Heights, Harrison, in 1955, and later to Natrona, where she lived some 40 years. She moved to Tarentum several years ago. She was a banquet waitress 10 years at the Holiday Inn in Harmar, and for nine years at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Fox Chapel. She also worked for the family business at Laux Bakery in Natrona. Mrs. Laux was a member of the Highlands Area Senior Citizens Center, Tarentum. Surviving her are a son, Nickolas (Bertiann) Thomas of Lyndora; a daughter, Marie Abbott of Clearwater, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Olga (Ernest) Felling of Parma, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Laux in 1967; a son, Andrew Thomas; her parents, Steve and Pauline Guzzi Nichy; and five brothers, William, Michael, Steve, Albert, and Joseph Nichy. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Natrona, where services have been set for 11 a.m. Monday. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Nulph, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Natrona Heights. Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. (Obituary from The Valley News Dispatch, Tarentum, Pa.)
