Birth: May 13, 1958 Oregon City Clackamas County Oregon, USA Death: Oct. 28, 2014 Penny Irene (Blalack) Peone, of Cottage Grove, OR, 56, passed away October 28, 2014. Penny was born May 13, 1958, in Oregon City, OR to Levi and Lois Blalack, the youngest of 3 children. Penny graduated from North Salem High School. As a young rebel she fell in love and married Jessie Pete Peone. They had two sons and raised their three children together. Penny attended night school to obtain her accounting degree and then worked for The State of Oregon for many years. She later became the Notary Officer of Oregon, working in the office of the Secretary of State, Barbara Roberts. Penny had many tribal involvements which crossed over into her work. She was very proud of her Native American Heritage and kept her children involved in theirs. Penny loved shopping and would spend hours in Goodwill. She would never turn down a garage sale trip. She was very creative and enjoyed beading, leather work or just coloring with her grand kids. Penny enjoyed the outdoors, reading and had many interests but loved nothing more than being a mother and grandmother to her 3 children and 9 grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Phebi Grude, her 2 children Brooke and Lykoan, son Jesse Peone and wife Christy, their children Thomas, Jesse, Randi, Brian, Keona, Levi, Jaxx and son Richard Peone. You will live forever in us Mom. A Memorial will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th Street, Cottage Grove, OR 97424.
