  [S927] Obituary. Obituary for Karen E. Schaner Karen E. Schaner, 61, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at St. Martins Catholic Church, Center, North Dakota with Rev. John Guthrie officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 6-8:00 PM, with a Vigil/Rosary service at 7:30 PM, Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. Martins Catholic Church, Center, North Dakota. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Martins Cemetery, Center. Karen was born July 8, 1955 at Bismarck, to Alfred and Elizabeth (Barth) Schaner. She was raised and educated in Center, North Dakota and graduated from Center High School in 1973. She was an avid cook, reader painter and collector of knick-knacks. Many of her friends and family received her paintings. She was a hard worker and loved doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family visiting. She is survived by her, mother; four sisters, Jeanette (Bob) Thomas, Renee (Dennis) Price, Donna (Rick) Roemmich, and Marlys (Mark) Weichel; four brothers, Gary (Leona Coutts), Dennis (Patti), Alfred (Connie), and Wayne; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Karen was preceded in death by her father; brother Arnold; grandparents, Kasper and Barbara Barth, John and Madeline Schaner; and nephew, Loren Schaner.
