Emelia Himmelspach (January 12, 1911 - December 24, 2007) Guest Book | Sign Guest Book Emelia Himmelspach Emelia Himmelspach, age 96 of Elgin, passed away Monday evening, December 24, 2007 at the Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am MT, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church rural Glen Ullin ND. Fr Todd Kreitinger will officiate with burial in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. A Family and Rosary Service will be held at 7:00pm MT on January 4, 2008 at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin. Special music will be provided by Patsy Hertz and Jackie Stewart. Serving as casketbearers are Dion Feigitsch, Jodie Fleckenstein, Jim Bertch, Alice Bertch, Frank Feigitsch, and Mary Ann Feigitsch. All grand and great grandchildren are considered honorary bearers. A memorial has been established. Emelia (Scheetz) Himmelspach was born January 12, 1911 at Crown Butte ND to Joseph and Elizabeth (Barth) Scheetz. She married Louie Himmelspach on November 3, 1931. Louie passed away on October 23, 1971. Emelia and Louie farmed south of Glen Ullin ND together for 40 years. After Louie passed away, Emelia continued to help on the farm until November 7, 1997 when she moved to an apartment in Elgin ND. On November 10, 2000, she moved to Dakota Hills Housing in Elgin. On December 2, 2004, she moved to Jacobson Memorial Care Center where she lived until her passing. At the age of 6, she began milking cows and has been active in the dairy operation for over 80 years. Emelia loved to farm and work in her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to spend joyous time with her animals, especially her pet dog Cody. She also loved being around her children, grand and great grandchildren and enjoyed listening to their stories. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, having coffee, pizza and chicken drummies at the local restaurants in Elgin. Emelia was a lady that could make everyone laugh and her smile was always so big no one could resist but smile with her. Emelia is survived by 3 daughters Mary Ann (Frank) Feigitsch, Elgin ND, Alice (Jim) Bertch, Bismarck ND, Florence Himmelspach, Mandan ND, 4 sons, Bill (Linda), Oregon, Alex, Mandan ND, Ronnie (Mildred), Billings MT, Steve (Judy), Livingston MT, Delbert (Anna), Glen Ullin ND; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Emelia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louie, 3 daughters, Adeline, Judy, and infant baby Frances; a son, Joe; and 3 brothers, John, Freddie, and Alex; and 2 sisters, Celestine Erhardt, and Mary Reisenauer.
