Alvina Marie Veitenheimer, age 80, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at her residence.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst with Deacon Don Brown officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Moloney, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Alvina was born December 21, 1933 in Windthorst, Texas to the late Fred and Helen Bindel Steinberger.
She and Edward Veitenheimer, Sr. were married August 25, 1952 in Windthorst, Texas.
Alvina, along with her husband, Ed, was the owner of Ed’s Café for thirty-eight years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include husband, Edward A. Veitenheimer, Sr. of Windthorst; three daughters, Vickie Barrett and husband, Dale of Sherman, Virgie Horn and husband, Jerry of Windthorst, Vinie Wolf and husband, Bill of Windthorst; five sons, Eddie Veitenheimer and wife, Jo Anne of Deer Creek, Robert A. Veitenheimer and wife, Debbie of Clay County, Larry Veitenheimer and wife, Cindy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Freddie Veitenheimer of Windthorst, and Joseph Veitenheimer and wife, Sarah of Amarillo; one sister, Rosalee Schroeder and husband, Richard of Windthorst; one brother, Robert Steinberger, Sr. and wife, Sue of Windthorst; thirty-five grandchildren; and twenty nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Steven; daughter, Vernie Ann; hree grandchildren, Ricky Barrett, Duke Veitenheimer and Gary Horn; and two brothers, Gerald and David Steinberger.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Barrett, Trey Veitenheimer.Rocky Veitenheimer, Jimmy Horn, Joey Horn, Jason Veitenheimer, Mickey Wolf, Bambi Veitenheimer, and Sarah Granados.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
