(Bud) Malone, 73, of Fairfield, died at 3:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at the VA Hospital in Marion. He had worked as an oil field mechanic, including service with the late Frank Jesop. Rites conducted Funeral rites were conducted Sunday morning from the Johnson Funeral Home here, with Rev. Douglas Rorex officiating. Interment was in Pin Oak Cemetery northeast of Sims. A visitation was held at the Johnson Funeral Home Saturday evening. Mr. Malone was born in Wayne County Jan. 19, 1937, the son of Oga and Nellie Gregg Harper Malone. His wife, Faye, died Oct. 26, 1995. Mr. Malone was a World War II veteran. Survivors are listed in the obituary.
