Birth: Jan. 24, 1925 Coplay Lehigh County Pennsylvania, USA Death: May 13, 2014 Leonard P. "Lenny" Newhart, 89, passed away on May 13, 2014. He was born in Coplay, PA to the late Paul C. Newhart and Beatrice Schaffer Newhart. He loved ballroom dancing along with square dancing as a member of the Dixie Squares. He then later joined parents without partners. He enjoyed playing golf all of his life and was a member of Indian River Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean W. Newhart of 50 years; sister, Nancy Moore; brothers, Robert Newhard, and Carl Newhart. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Debra Jean Newhart; son, Paul L. Newhart and wife Mary; brothers, Paul Newhart, and John Newhart; special friend, Helen Colonna; personal care aid, Keisha Payton; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
